Sustainable clearance of four sites
As one of Germany’s largest online retailers, OTTO closed four customer service sites as part of optimising its site structure. The aim was to clear the locations in Kassel, Nuremberg, Bochum and Niederzier efficiently and in an ESG-compliant way, while ensuring the sustainable recovery and internal reuse of the inventory. Fenyx took on end-to-end project management — from capturing furniture and technical equipment through dismantling and transport to broom-clean handover and full documentation of every process.

Four sites managed centrally
Fenyx took on the complete project coordination and delivery of the site clearance — from capturing the inventory through dismantling to broom-clean handover. The entire process was planned and steered centrally to ensure smooth execution at all four sites. Clear structures and coordinated logistics made it possible to run transport, interim storage and the transfer of furniture to other OTTO sites such as Neubrandenburg and Erfurt efficiently.
Reuse instead of disposal
A substantial part of the inventory was reused within the group, and the remainder was properly recycled. Consistently applying sustainable processes saved CO₂ emissions and conserved valuable resources — an important contribution to OTTO’s sustainability strategy.
Efficient, commercially sound and ESG-compliant
The project was characterised by precise planning, close coordination and fast delivery. Each site was fully cleared and handed over broom-clean within a few days — with transparent reporting and documented results. Centrally managing every trade, from dismantling through logistics to recycling, meant all four sites were completed on schedule, cost-effectively and in an ESG-compliant way, measurably improving the company’s sustainability record.

"I look forward to advising you on the sustainable transformation of your workplace."
